Booting from USB is the better choice, since I already have so many rogue un-labeled CDs/DVDs under my belt.. why create another when I have this better option? Anyway.
I found this nifty program for creating boot cds in Winders called Rufus and yes it is damn convenient so I wanted to share the love.

The program is pretty self-explanatory if you have any experience in the world of computers, however, here are the settings I used for booting ESXi 5.5:

I’ve been working in IT for almost 16 years now and it has been many moons since I’ve had to actually boot a bare-metal server into an OS. In the past four-five years I’ve simply just use the ISO or OVA and boot a VM 😉
